Cooper–5 Years Old

5 years seems like such a milestone and it is hard to believe Cooper has been a part of our lives for that many years already.  There are days I can so vividly recall every moment of his first few days home with Casey and I .  He is growing into an incredible, young man.  A few things I want to look back on and be able to remember…

• Cooper loves exploring outside, especially on the ATV at Uba and Grandpa’s.
• He loves his bike and we bike all over town together.  He wears a helmet with flames that he calls his “hot wheels” helmets.
• Cooper is an amazingly patient and understanding brother.  Brecken can be a little difficult at times and Cooper always treats him with such respect.  He is a wonderful teacher and the boys play so wonderfully together.
• Coop has a very dry sense of humor.  He is experimenting with jokes (knock, knock mainly) but for the most part dishes it.  He still has trouble taking a joke.
• He is a rule follower through and through. He has a pretty serious personality most of the time.  Cooper is extremely literal and takes everyone by their word.  You won’t ever need to tell him something more than once and he is very offended if he thinks someone else isn’t following the rules.
• Cooper could read for hours – non-fiction is his favorite.  He loves books about dinosaurs, trucks, bugs and space.  He also enjoys reading about superheroes.
• His favorite color is purple. 
• He loves the Packers even more than the Badgers (gasp!)
• Cooper loves doing crafts – gluing, painting, coloring, etc.  He loves it all, especially when Grandma Jane lets him dig into her special craft supplies.
• He is proud of Gia and loves being the big cousin.
• Cooper is so thoughtful and curious.  He loves learning and picks up on everything so quickly.  He is always questioning things and then wanting to search for the answers.  I know he will love school.
• He won’t eat blueberries or bananas (I think he overdosed as a toddler).
• He loves Nutella, Mac and Cheese and yogurt (especially with sprinkles).
• Lastly, he is so loving.  He looks out for everyone in the family.  He always wants everyone to be together and loves our “family hugs”.  He is very special!
