Brecken–11 Months

Stop…wait, I can’t believe that in just a few short weeks Brecken will be one year old. Craziness. He doesn’t seem like he is that old yet.  Brecken is standing up but not really showing any interest in taking steps without holding onto something so I don’t think walking will be happening anytime soon. He has 8 teeth and has turned into quite the biter, always nibbling on your fingers, pillows or anything else nearby. He is starting to phase out bottles and continue to enjoy any food he puts into his mouth. Brecken is  just the cuddliest little lover in the world.  He is mama crazy and just wants to snuggle up and cuddle with me all day long.  I am loving every minute of it.I have to admit, this last month has been awful.  Brecken was so sick and he just couldn’t beat it.  He started out with what we think was a common cold and then it just wouldn’t go away.  His nasal passages and sinuses got all backed up and then came bacteria and infection.  He was sick with a fever on and off for a month.  Finally we did chest x-rays and took blood to rule out a few things and they were at the point where they were suggesting IV antibiotics and a hospital stay.  We tried a large oral dose coupled with three injections of antibiotics into his thigh muscle.  It seemed to do the trick.  I have my old baby back – full of smiles, sleeping long hours and as happy as can be.  It felt like a long month and I am so glad to see Brecken back to his regular old fantastic self.
