First Day at School

Today marks the completion of Cooper's first week in pre-school. It went really well! We did a lot of front loading in order to prepare him for school. He got to help shop for the supplies he needed. We bought lots of new books about school and read them to him and held many conversations telling him he was going to school and talking about his day. He really loved the school when we visited so I felt it would be a good transition. The first day he was so pumped. He was so proud of his backpack and lunchbox. He looked absolutely adorable and Casey and I actually managed to drop him off without bursting into tears. Cooper put his materials away and barely had time to say goodbye to us before he climbed into the fort in his room. I had to laugh when I picked him up because he was talking a mile a minute filling us in on everything he did. Here were some of the highlights he pointed out: He met the class fish named Scottie (his name is actually Patrick), played with a new friend who he called Scottie (real name unknown), painted a yellow picture, read lots of books, took a nap and he talked during nap and the teacher said shhh, ate lunch and spilled his milk, saw the goats and played in the sandbox. I love when he recaps his day with so many details. I want to be a fly on the wall to watch him there! It was a great first day for Coop.
