Chit Chat

Brecken is a quiet little boy. IMG_1008 Casey and I spoke with the pediatrician about the fact that he isn’t talking at all.  We wanted to make sure that he didn’t have any ear problems like Cooper or Casey.  He recently had an appointment with the audiologist and he has perfect hearing.  They did think his adenoids were enlarged (which would also account for the snoring) and it is likely he will need to have them removed at some point, later when he is school-aged. We think that Brecken might be quiet because he takes more after his father than his mother and also because Cooper hardly ever stops talking.  After anxiously waiting for him to start talking (he had about a 10-word delay) we are relieved to say that he is really opening up and talking all the time now.  He says Momma and Dada all the time now.  He points out things he sees like birds, shoes, etc. and makes several animal noises.  Brecken will point out and name body parts now as well.  He has begun signing much more now too.  I was waiting for him to have a name for Cooper and he finally has one.  He yells out, “Booper” as they chase each other around.   I think we are all much happier to be able to communicate with each other.
