POP

Today I got a call from Cooper’s preschool saying that Coop had fallen down pretty hard and had been crying for about 30 minutes.  My kids were at Art so I ran over there and sure enough he was clutching his arm and crying.  We all worried it might be broken. I quick found a sub and took him to the hospital.  We took lots of x-rays which went terribly because every time he had to move his arm Cooper just started wailing like I have never heard him.  The x-rays showed no broken bones but did show a pretty bad elbow dislocation.  The orthopedic surgeon had to come in and manipulate his arm back and forth.  I don’t know how she could work over his screaming.  Finally, POP!  We heard this big noise and then it was just instantaneous relief.  He felt better right away and grabbed his coat and walked right out the door.  He seems fine now and just has to take it easy for 48 hours.  What a crummy day it turned out to be and he looked so cute this morning in his new sweater all excited to go to school.  We are very glad it wasn’t a break.  No casts in our future please.
