Happy Birthday Grandpa

My Grandpa turned 80 amazing years old this weekend.  My mom and the rest of her siblings threw a fantastic party in his honor.  There were lots of kiddie pools and a bounce house for the kids.  A pig was roasted and there was lots of delicious food served.  Distant friends and family turned out for the event.  It was nice to see the Joliet branches of the family tree. Grandpa and the members of his band, The Brass Ball Bangers, put on a great show.  Grandpa played his boomba and did some singing.  The adults enjoyed a bag tournament.  The kids loved splashing around. It was a little hot for Brecken but he managed to enjoy the day as well. The grandkids all put on a little skit that my mom wrote reminding Grandpa of what was happening in the world when he was each of our ages.  His kids all joined him in singing Let Me Call You Sweetheart which was a favorite song of his and my grandma’s. It was a wonderful day.  Had my grandma been there to enjoy the festivities it just might have been the perfect party!
