Waunafest Weekend – The Run

Our town has their big Waunafest every summer.  They have a fair, a run, fireworks, a huge parade and more. Casey and Grandpa decided to do the 5K run together.  They both did fantastic but I think the real star was Cooper.  Uba and I did the 2 mile family walk with the boys and Cooper wasn’t interested in walking at all.  As soon as we crossed the start line he took off saying, “Kachow!” and announcing that he was Lightening McQueen.  Poor Uba had to keep up with Cooper because he ran every step of that 2 miles.  Maybe we have a competitive runner on our hands.  He wasn’t even out of breath or sweating when he crossed the finish line, the big crowd was cheering for him!  I pushed Brecken and another little kiddo in our double stroller whose mom pooped out after carrying giving her a piggy back ride for a mile. It was fun because the walk merged with the 5K and we happened to hit the point right when Casey and Grandpa were running by.  Cooper gave them a cup of water! We finished the walk/run and got some refreshments.  Cooper was still in serious race mode and wanted to stretch like the other racers. Way to go runners!
