Celebrating Youth

Today we went to the Monona Terrace for the annual Celebrating Youth Festival.  I love this festival because it showcases youth activities that aren’t your typical mainstream to do’s and we always learn about something new in Madison for us to try out with the kiddos.  We got to take our new double stroller out for the first time.  It was hard to pick a double stroller but we went with the Joovy Ergo and so far we love it.  DSCN1546It will be nice when Brecken can sit in the front and Coop can stand on the jump seat in the back. At the festival we saw some great art from local children.  We liked the exhibit made from kids handprints. DSCN1551Casey and Cooper went mining for some local rocks and minerals.  You got to keep what you found…bonus! DSCN1561Cooper’s favorite was the karate exhibit where he got to kick and pop a balloon.  DSCN1565We investigated some insects.  The cockroach was a little scary.  DSCN1558Cooper was braver with the dead specimens available for investigation.  DSCN1559  We played some games and made some crafts with the big kids.DSCN1556DSCN1555  Casey and I were laughing when the weatherman let Cooper go on the green screen and “report” the weather. Cooper was so amused to see himself on the TV that he didn’t really talk about the weather or anything for that matter; he was just all smiles. DSCN1553 Brecken sure made the festival a breeze for us.  Never made a peep.
