I took advantage of the extra hands while we were watching Gia and had my parents help me turn Cooper's nursery into a big boy room! I have to say I love it!! The hanging monkeys are so whimsical and cute.
I think the big giant leaf over the bed is adorable.
Cooper really digs it, he says he is in a jungle fort. My mom and dad refurbished the cute headboard, which believe it or not, was hers when she was a little girl and then my brother used it when he was little. We bought a matching white dresser and put on little red knobs, it went perfectly.
So, I was really nervous about having him sleep in there but he napped really well. However, nightime was a different story. He was scared to go to sleep and asked if he could sleep on the floor. He started to cry, it just about broke my heart. We cuddled with him until he seemed okay. He talks MUCH more in his big boy bed (well over an hour) before going to sleep. He slept well until about 11:00 and then we heard a BOOM. We ran in to find Cooper trying to hurry back in his bed because we told him he couldn't get out unless we got him and he didn't want to upset us. He said, "the bed throwed me down." We felt so bad! He was still kind of out it and half asleep and then he laid back down. He woke up around 7:00 and fell back out. He was so sad about it...and so were we. He ended up with a nice ouchie on his head.
I asked him if he wanted to sleep back in his crib and he said no...so at least he still loved his big boy bed. We went out and bought safety railings ASAP this morning. Tonight, he went down better and I think we all felt more relieved with the railings.
All in all, it was a relatively smooth transition and he really loves his new room. Gia even got a chance to enjoy it! I can't believe how quickly Cooper is growing up
