I have had some trouble with one pesky ear infection. No matter what I did, the darn thing wouldn't go away, not even after three rounds of antibiotics. The special ENT doctor that I visited told my mommy and daddy that I needed to get tubes put into both of my ears. This is a short surgery where they make a little incision in my eardrum and insert a small tube. That little tube will make my earaches go away and then just fall out on its own in about a year. The surgery was fast but very scary, especially when I had to "go to sleep". I am all better now and very happy that Dr. Schemmel could help me out.
Here I am going for a ride right before my surgery. The wheelchair rides kept me calm.
Daddy and I also spent some pre-surgery time walking through the halls visiting the other babies getting tubes in their ears.
Before my surgery, they put this little nugget on my finger to get my pulse. I did not like it.
I felt scared but my mommy was in her special clothes and was there to take me back to the surgical unit. That made me feel safe and comforted. Mommy and Daddy take good care of me.
